It was an excellent climax to an exciting, Fun filled Nawras Family cricket tournament 2009 , as Badr Al Samaa Hospital’s cricket team emerged as champions after winning a keenly contested Final against TOCO (Oman Construction Co. LLC) at the Jabr Bin Zaid ground in Wattyah on thurusday. This one day softball cricket tournament was one of the Executive, premier class and entertaining tournament exclusively designed for the cricket teams representing companies. The organinsers also set up a exclusive refreshments center and the same served Nabil Biscuits , Pepsi ,Pocari and Aquafina water through out the day to all the participants as well as Spectators.

The organizers thanked all the sponsors for their kind support and said “This tournament attracted a huge nos. of spectators as this was a combination of Cricket as well as drawings competitions. The parents enjoyed the cricket matches while their kids were busy in making the drawings.” Mr Anwar Salim Al Habsi , Sponsorship Manager –Nawras along with Dr V S Kumar , General Manager – Mustafa Sultan exchange company and Mr Dad Mohammed Al Balushi were present to give away the prizes to top performers and individuals .

The tournament also attracted a huge numbers of spectators . DJ lucky rocked the crowd by playing latest Hindi , Punjabi, and english Songs. In addition to cricket tournament the coloriong and draing comptetition was also organised for the age group of 8-10 years. In this competition Suchi Smita Singh of Indian School Al Ghubra won the Best Drawing award and Nechal Maggon of Indian School Al Ghubra won the runners up prize. In this competition three topics “Beautiful Oman, Nawras Cricket and Festival were given to the Kids. More than 60 children participated in this competition and other than winners up and runners up prize twelve consolation prizes of MAXIMA watches were also given to the best drawings. In addition every participant participated in this tournament got a prize sponsored by Sweets of Oman and Mc Donald. Matches Details :- TOCO and Badr Al samaa reached to the finals after winning their semifinal matches from Muscat gangsters and Suhal Bahwan Automotive LLC teams respectively. After winning the toss Badr Al Samaa Elected to Bat and Scored 75 Runs for 5 wickets from 8 overs (Eappen - 47 , Dr Ranjan- 8)In reply TOCO could score only 52 Runs for 8 wickets (Prijo-12, Diva-7).
