SAG JEWELLERS WINS THE NAWRAS CRICKET TOURNAMENT 2008.
All Cricket lovers in Muscat were stunned to see the matches as Gulf Sport star organized the very first time NAWRS MRI Ball Cricket tournament .The breakfast of Nabil Biscuits ,hot tea by Mumtaz Mahal tea , Aqua Fina Water , Pepsi and other snacks was served to all the players.Mr. Hussein-Al Fadhil , Sponsorship Manager , NAWRAS with their team was present to witness the matches and giving away the prizes . Organisers thanked all the Sponsors i.e Nawras Oman , Convergence Oman LLC and Muscat Pharmacy.

All the officials from the Nawras enjoyed the semifinals and final matches. Mr. Hussein thanked Organizers for their hard work towards this wonderful event .He also thanked all the teams and assured the cricket lovers in Oman that more Cricket Tournaments will be played in the future.The participating teams include Darwish LLC., Air Borne Arrows, Tele Boys, Emarat Stars (team with Omani Players), Lanka Lions, Prasad XI , Gangster XI ,Al Kahlili Team, Towell Engg., Al Bashaq LLC., Al Khuwair XI , Geneteco LLC., Coastal LLC., Moosa Abdul Rehman LLC., Rain Birds LLC, Assrain LLC., Shanfari LLC and Sag jewelers.


Sag jewelers team and Coastal team reached to Final after fighting with their group matches and Final Match was very tough as both the teams were equally talented. Sag jewelers lost the toss and Coastal elected to field first . Sag jewelers set a target of 82 runs after loss of 5 wickets in their 8 overs with the addition of Runs from Awal khan – 47 Runs (Four sizes and one four ), Irfan- 20 Runs .Coastal Team Started their innings with their huge sixes and in the mid of their spell they were looking very comfortable. But all of sudden after fall of some quick wickets they lost their control on the match and they could not make it through and they lost the match by only 8 runs.Final Scores were :- Coastal Team (In eight Over) – 74 Runs in 8 overs /6 wickets highest score by Ashfaq- 30 Runs (2 Sixes , 1 four)Sag jewelers – 82 Runs in Eight overs Awal khan – 47 Runs (Four sizes and one four ), Irfan- 20 Runs .Man of The match – Awal Khan ( 47 Runs and took 3 wickets)Man of the Tournament (Sag Jewellers)- Farhan Afzal Khan
