TOCO WINS THE PROTON CRICKET CUP 2011





MUSCAT: The Oman Construc ion Company LLC (TOCO) team emerged champions of the third edi ion of Grand Proton Cricket Cup 2011 which was held during the week end at Bausher Ground. Batting first TOCO scored 52 runs n the allotted eight overs . Bilal and Jagath made 14 and 12 uns respectively. In reply Landmark XI were all out or 46 runs on the penultimate ball. This tournament was the First ricket tournament of the new year and was organised to welcome the New Year 2011. A total ten teams participated n this cricket tournament. TOCO and Landmark XI (Center Point) reached to the grand final match after winning their respective match es over Taiseer Electronics and Saud Bahwan Commercial Division. The major attraction of this ricket tournament was the three new teams — Indian Embassy Al Rehwan and Proton Warriors. Kris Bala manager sales from Proton Automobile Division along with Vishal Shiv Puri assistant man ager sales Proton from Al Hashar Group were the chief guests. Speaking during the grand final Bala said: “This is third time we have ponsored this cricket tournament and Proton management is pleased o support this annual affair.”

3RD EDITION OF PROTON CRICKET CUP ON 14TH JAN.

After grand success of Oman Air cricket Tournament, Gulf Sports club is all set with their third edition of Proton cricket Cup 2011 . This Grand tournament will be played on 14th JANUARY at Baldiya Stadium in bowshar and maximum twelve teams can be registered in this one day tournament. This cricket tournament is the first MRi cricket tournament to be played in year 2011 . League players from A And B Division are not allowed to participate in this cricket tournament. Each Match will be of 8 overs and a bowler can bowl maximum 2 overs. For rest all rules the players may refer to ICC international rules.
Annoucing the tournament organizers said “ This cricket tournament is organized to celebrate the New Year 2011 and with the excellent weather the excellent cricket ground maintained by organizers awaits the players. ”
“Another attraction of this cricket tournament will be the on the spot prizes for spectators. They will be asked cricket related questions and will get on the spot prizes. ”
