Dear Team Players,

We thank you for your interest for participating in the Corporate Cricket 2011.

Major highlights:-

1. Only companies and their Permanent Employees (preferably executive staff) are allowed to participate. The corporate teams will present there identity of there staff participating before start of the each match. The captains will witness, and confirm the identity before start of a toss. (Non-compliance to this clause will be ban the team to participate the corporate cricket cup)

2. One match at a time in Full Stadium.

3. Special refreshment center serving Snacks, Drinks for the players.

4. Only 8-10 teams can participate in this one day event.
5. Matches will be on Friday 25th March 2011 at Russayl Football Stadium
6. Grand prizes to be won. ( Trophies for winners and Runners up teams , Individual to receive Alba or Westar Watch sponsored by OMASCO , Top Performers to receive Gift Hampers from PARK INN Muscat.
7. DJ by Pulse Events and Cheerleaders will entertain the crowd.
8. Refreshments for all .

9. Two advertisements covered in news papers with Corporate cricket team LOGO.


This tournament is to focus only the companies and there staff members interested in playing cricket.


Tournament Rules:-

1st Round each game will be 10 over per inning. A bowler is allowed to bowl a max. of 2 overs.

- MRI Ball will be used in this tournament. One ball will be used per innings. Ball will be provided by the organizing committee.

- Basic international rules will be followed (runs for byes, No balls, wide balls and over throws , Free hit etc.)

- Neutral umpires will supervise all the games (both main and the leg umpire). All teams are required to honor the Umpire’s decision and this may not be challenged. In case of any controversy, only captains from both teams can talk to the umpires. In any case umpires decision will be the final one. The two umpires can consult each other and have a right to change the decision, if realizes an error in the judgment.

- Throw bowling is not allowed. If the umpire calls a bowler for throw bowling three times in a match, the bowler will be disqualified to bowl further in that match.

- In case of a tied game, the both the teams will be called for Ball –Out and three bowlers from each team will bowl and hit the stumps. Only three chances will be given. The team hitting highest time the wicket will be declared as WINNER.

- There are awards for Best Bowler and Best Batsman based upon whole tournament performance with other regular awards. To better judge the best performer awards, the captains of each team are responsible to prepare a brief summary of batting/bowling performance after each game in co-ordination with the scorer and must submit to the committee right after the game for analysis.

Teams

- Committee will make every effort to start the games on scheduled times. But this cannot be achieved without the co-operation of all teams. Please try to be on-time to avoid any setbacks and penalties. Teams are requested to reach the ground at least 30 minutes before time, so they can get used to of lights.

- The Toss will take place 20 minutes before the scheduled start of the game. At least one representative (preferably the captain) should be present at the time of toss. If there is no authorized representative available 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the game, the toss will be awarded to the opposite team.

- A new game should begin within 5 minutes of finish of previous game. The fielding side is responsible to set up the field as soon as the previous game is over.

- Innings Duration: Fielding team is responsible to finish their innings (8 over) within 30 minutes. Any delay may lead to penalty. This decision will be made by the umpires in consultation with the committee. A penalty can be deduction of over’s or penalty runs. The umpires/Committee will try to remind the fielding captains if they are behind schedule but this is not mandatory and cannot be used as an excuse for the delay. The fielding captain is responsible to keep track of the time and should try to avoid delays in field settings etc.

- The batting side should send in a new batsman within a minute of fall of a wicket.

- There will be only 5 minutes break between innings. Both team’s captains are responsible to have their players available after 5 min break. Delay from any side could be the cause of similar penalties like at the start of the game. If any team wants to take any other break including the Prayer Break, they need to inform the committee in advance and this break should not last more than 10 minutes. Please come prepared for any such arrangements.

- A team showing up late for the game will be penalized as follows:
One over will be deducted for each five minutes delay.
Walk over will be awarded if late by more than 15 minutes
- A team must have minimum of seven players to start the game. A player will not be allowed to enter the game after 4th over.

- Teams are requested to maintain discipline during the game. A team may be dis-qualified for indiscipline. Umpires will make this decision in consultation with the tournament committee.
