Nawras cricket enters knockout stage

MUSCAT: The stage is all set for the quarters with eight teams in the fray. Al Faisal Group Star Lights CC OCT Mabella TOCO Taiseer Electronics Assarain Coastal CC and Friends XI making it to the quarter?nal stage which is to be held on September 3 followed by the semi?nal and the grand ?nal on September 4. In the matches held earlier Bul lets XI faced of against Assarain in the ?rst match. Bullets XI elected to ?eld and immediately restricted Assarain to 78 runs for the loss of ?ve wickets with Maqsood (24) Unni (21) Zeeshan (18) all con tributing to the total. Badusha took 2 for 10. In reply Bullets XI scored 30 runs for the loss of ?ve wickets Sanjay remained unbeaten on 24. Maqsood was declared the man of the match.
Al Khoud CC put in to bat by Coastal XI scored 57 for the loss of eight wickets in the stipu f lated eight overs with Shahzad (21) Waseem (16) making useful contri t butions Saleem and Imran were the bowlers to take two a piece. In reply Coastal XI chased down the score with one ball to spare los c ing ?ve wickets in the end Saleem ell for 24 and Riyaz remained not out on 11. Saleem took the man of he match award. In the penultimate match OCT Mabella put TR Engineering in to bat and restricted them to 39 runs apturing seven wickets Rikkaz scoring 15 and Najeeb Rafeeq end ing with ?gures of 2 for 3. In reply OCT Mabella scored 41 runs for the loss ?ve wickets to win in six overs Najeeb Rafeeq and Ilyas remained unbeaten on 11 and 10 re spectively. Najeeb Rafeeq was the man of the match. 
In the last match with STS bat ting ?rst made 50 runs for the loss of three wickets in the allotted eight overs. Majid top scoring with 22 and ably supported by Awal Khan with 12. In reply Star Lights CC made 51 for the loss of two wickets ?nishing the match in 5.3 overs Ateeq with 31 N.O. and Mujtaba 12 N.O. was the top rungetters
