After the grand success of the yearly Ramadan cricket tournament Gulf 15th December 2012 to celebrate the Sultanate of Oman
Announcing the cricket tournament organizers said “ This is the very 1st of its kind cricket tournament to celebrate the Oman’s National day.There are number of attractions of this cricket tournament and we are sure that all the teams participating in the tournament will enjoy the second edition”
There will be number of slots , where the teams will have a chance to play the whole cricket tournament without paying any fees. The individual batsman hitting exact 41 runs will get exclusive prizes from McDonalds. The Prize distribution of this cricket tournament will held at McDonalds Cricket Qurum outlet . The Winning and runners up team will have the special dinner at the McDonalds outlet with exclusive prepared Grand Mac , Big Mac Sandwitches for the cricket teams in addition to stunning trophies and individual Prizes.
Two players from the “A” and “B” division league are allowed to participate in this tournament in each team.
The first preference is given to the teams representing the companies and the committee can regret registration to any of the team as registration is limited to 32 teams only. Announcing the event the organizers said “After our Ramadan cricket cup, we have made lot of changes in registration process so that the teams demonstrated discipline and sportsmanship are being given first preference. This tournament is limited to 32 teams only and the organizers are committed to provide a excellent sporting atmosphere to players as well as spectators. Also players are required to play in colored clothing (other than white shirt) since the color of the MRI ball is green. The refreshment center will be serving the refreshments to the players throughout the day”
Other General rules :- Each game will be 8 over per inning. A bowler is allowed to bowl a max. of 2 overs. MRI Ball will be used in this tournament. One ball will be used per innings. Ball will be provided by the organizing committee. Basic international rules will be followed (runs for byes, No balls, wide balls and over throws , Free hit etc.) In case of a tied game, the both the teams will be called for Ball –Out and three bowlers from each team will bowl and hit the stumps. Only three chances will be given. The team hitting highest time the wicket will be declared as WINNER .Teams are requested to maintain discipline during the game. A team may be dis-qualified for indiscipline. Umpires will make this decision in consultation with the tournament committee.
