All set for 1st Al Rehwan Cricket cup

Muscatcricket.blogspot.com under the guidance of GULF SPORTS CLUB and support of Al Rehwan Contracting Company is all set for 1st Grand Al Rehwan Cricket tournament to be held on 28th Jan 2011 . The tournament is one of the premier and executive class tournaments of the country. It is also the most anticipated sporting event of the calendar 2011. The matches will be played at Boushar Baldiya Ground near Al Maha Club . The first match will start at 7.00 A.M and the Grand Final match will be played at 4.00 PM P.M . Following corporate teams are participating in this Soft ball tournament will battle it out for the prestigious trophy.
AL Khalili-Group , Al Athnain XI, Asfand XI, Al Khoudh CC, Al Rehwan, Landmark XI, Saud Bahwan Automotive , Royal Guard of OmanThe draws were conducted on Wednesday night at McDonald Qurum in presence of Chief guest Mr Shiraj Abdulla , General Manager of Al Rehwan Contracting Company and teams managers were present to witness the same. Announcing the teams organisers said “The response for 1st Edition of Al Rehwan Cricket Cup is incredible and We have received a excellent response from all the teams . More than 8 teams were ready to participate in this one day tournament and the are still enquiring for registration, Because of 10 Overs match we can accommodate only 8 teams , with enough breaks being given”
The organisers have made very very special arrangements so that all can enjoy. In addition there are no. of exciting prizes ,Grand Trophies for the top performers of the tournament. In addition In addition to individual prizes , Best Wicket keeper, Best bowler, Best Batsman and Every match will also have a award,.
Match Rules:- The matches will be played on Grassy pitch and soft MRI ball will be used. Each game will be 10 over per inning. A bowler is allowed to bowl a max. of 2 overs. Basic international rules will be followed (runs for byes, No balls, wide balls and over throws , Free hit etc.) In case of a tied game, the both the teams will be called for Ball –Out and three bowlers from each team will bowl and hit the stumps. Only three chances will be given. The team hitting highest time the wicket will be declared as WINNER.
There are awards for Best Bowler and Best Batsman based upon whole tournament performance with other regular awards. To better judge the best performer awards, the captains of each team are responsible to prepare a brief summary of batting/bowling performance after each game in co-ordination with the scorer and must submit to the committee right after the game for analysis
